Dear Customer, We are delighted to present our ‘new look’ 2005/6 wine list. We hope you approve. There are many new wines throughout the list and all have been marked accordingly. With the enormous increase in sales of rose wines we are now listing them separately, also for those of you with a sweet tooth, sweet wines have their own section under ‘pudding wines’. Towards the front of the list on pages 7 and 8 there is a selection of wines all under £6 a bottle including VAT. They have all been chosen to offer excellent value and quality. We have made additions to our French Regional section (hope you enjoy the Arrogant Frog!). Also we have revamped our offerings from Bordeaux. The New World has not been forgotten. Sales from these countries continues to grow at pace. We have new listings from California, Australia, South Africa, Chile and Argentina. Riesling is a grape variety which is receiving more recognition, please try the wines of Reichsgraf Von Kesselstatt from Germany, they are quite outstanding. You will have noticed that more wines are appearing in bottles with ‘stelvin closures’ (screw caps). This is becoming the norm and we think it is a definite move forward in quality! If you have any questions regarding the list or services, please do not hesitate to contact us. We hope you all have a successful season and as always thank you for your support. Salut! The Cristal range was created by Louis Roederer II in 1876 for Tsar Alexander II who was displeased that the champagne being drunk by his courtiers was identical to the champagne he was serving.
